Welcome to Balsall Common Methodist Church

Balsall Common is an expanding commuter village having a population of approximately 6,500 with the Church situated in Station Road near to the shops which forms the hub of the village. As a group of Christians we believe that Jesus makes a difference to our lives and we want to make his heart known to the community in which we live and serve.

We would like to welcome you  to our church for the Sunday service @ 10.30 am. We are a friendly church with a portfolio of activities.

Our minister is Rev Christine Crabtree; our services are also led by local preachers.

Our activities beyond  the service involve a monthly bible group  led by our minister on the first Wednesday of the month. The group meets at church. Please contact Rev Christine Crabtree: revchristine@covnunmethodist.org.uk for more details.

We also offer on-line bible study via Zoom on Thursdays at  19.45 pm.  Please contact Christine Welham via e-mail: welham147@btinternet.com

There is a whatsapp prayer group. Please contact k.brooks4@sky.com to hear more about it.

We have pastoral visitors who are supporting church members.

Social church events include a Luncheon Club in the church hall on Mondays at  lunchtime ( 12 noon -3 pm) for which one can register. Please speak to our minister.

We run a Warm Welcome Café at the church on Mondays 9.30-11.30am . Please drop in and have a chat.

There is a Table Tennis group on Thursday afternoon from 1-3 pm in the church hall. Just come along.

There is a Walking Group meeting monthly on the third Wednesday morning at church at 9.30 am to head off for a walk. For more details contact r.pacey436@btinternet.com

The church also runs a Toddler Group on Tuesday 10.00 am – 11.30 am in the church hall. The group provides an opportunity for conversations and support and the toddlers to play with one another and sing. Mothers, fathers, carers, grandparents are welcome to come along with their toddlers and babies.

The 2nd Balsall Common Scout Group meets in our church and is open to both girls and boys for ages 4-17 years.  The Explorers, Scouts, Cubs, Beavers and Squirrels enjoy a varied programme organised by our experienced Scout leaders. For information about joining as a leader or for a place for your child please email scouts2ndbalsallcommon@outlook.com

Our church is an active member of Churches Together with St Peter’s Church and Blessed Robert Grissold Catholic Church in Balsall Common, with St John Church in Berkswell, St Mary’s Temple Balsall and St. Swithins in Barston.

For example we all join together  for Coffee Together at The Jubilee in the Village, on the 1st Saturday in each month between 10.30am and 12 Noon. All are welcome to come and go, and join with us for a friendly chat over coffee and cakes.

Three times  each year- shortly after Easter, Harvest and Advent - a Quiet Morning is held in the beautiful grounds at The Old Hall, Temple Balsall. For more information please contact the minister.

Please speak to our minister for any details and more information revchristine@covnunmethodist.org.uk.
