I arrived in Coventry in 1990 and this has been my home since then.

St Helens is my original home (Lancashire as was, and now Merseyside). From there I went to RHC (University of London) where I met Ian, my husband. We have lived in Chester, and Newhaven in Sussex, moving around for work. My first career was in teaching – Physics and Maths – and then, later in life, I 'morphed' into a new role in Counselling.

I am a member at Earlsdon Church and have worn various hats there, including steward and pastoral visitor. I also write and edit our weekly newsletter, sent out by email since 2020. I am involved with a small group encouraging our church and congregation in eco-awareness.

We are all becoming increasingly conscious that caring for God's creation is a really important part of being Christian. Along with people of other faiths and of no religion, we realise that the earth which we have 'plundered and poisoned' for so long desperately needs to be valued and nurtured with much greater respect and love. We must listen and learn from nature.

I am no expert in ecology or environmental issues, but I do want to care more and to work alongside others in our shared concern, learning to love God's earth. What might that mean in practice..?
