Do you feel passionate about the church being active and visible in the communities? Do you feel drawn by God to build on the words in James 2:14-26? Are you inspired to work with others and build on existing, and develop new, ways of serving the communities beyond the church walls?

Coventry and Nuneaton Methodist Circuit are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and energetic individual who, guided by the Lord, in the role of Methodist Community Development Worker is called to lead the church to engage with other partners (both Ecumenical and Secular) to show God’s love through serving the needs of the wider community.

Working collaboratively with the Minister in pastoral charge and the church leadership, establish and develop connections with other organisations who are active in serving the needs of the community (initially around Nuneaton Methodist Church). Building on these connections draw others in the body of the church to grow their engagement with these acts of service and start journeys of action beyond and within the church walls.

You will use your Christian Faith and inter-personal skills to inform, inspire and support and the church community to develop its service to and engagement with those who are our neighbours and in need of faith, hope and love.

The appointment is for a fixed period of 2 years due to funding

21 hours per week (0.6 FTE)

£27,297 – £31,857 per annum pro-rata
